Maskdance Festival

On Saturday, we went to the Andong Maskdance Festival where we saw all kinds of cultural dances and traditions from around the world. There were traditional dances, arts and crafts, dance contests, parades, kites, science exhibits, agricultural exhibits, masks, concerts, and shows.

We watched dances from Mexico and Poland, we made our own masks, and we encountered an alien! As we were painting our masks, lots of people, especially older people, came to check our work. Some tried to tell us what we were doing wrong and some showed their approval, but we were certainly a spectacle. I have no idea what all the different colors or mask shapes represent, so I hope I didn't create a mask that represented a prostitute or a devil or something. I just thought the colors were pretty.

I posted the rest of the pictures on Flickr, so click on the box and check it out!
