Butt Goat Bee

I cannot tell you how absolutely fantastic the weather is here. It's marvelous. And, along with the beautiful weather come many fragrant and bright flowers. In the afternoons, the sappy sweet smell of lilacs wafts in through the classroom windows, and brightly flowering bushes and vines decorate and disguise all the gray and concrete of the city.

South Korea is known for it's cherry blossoms, so last weekend we decided to view them in all their splendor in Gyeongju. It was one of the most idyllic days I've ever had. We rented bikes and rode to a park and then a lake, where we strolled amongst families and couples, picnicking, playing games, taking portraits, and frolicking through the wildflowers. We rode as the sunlight streamed through the trees and the blossoms snowed down on us. They call it cherry blossom rain, budt gote bee. The reality is so much more attractive than the name.

It was an immaculate day.
