There are no dumpsters to be found anywhere in our neighborhood. Instead, people make trash piles at a few select sites along the street. Why I have never seen a rat or roaches swarming the trash piles, I don't know.
Every day or two, the garbage truck rolls down the street, broadcasting his cheery garbage song that's faintly reminiscent of the circus. Following along are elderly volunteers picking up stray trash and bottles. It's quite a catchy tune and I rather enjoy it.
