Daegu is a continual fashion show. Everyone is well dressed and well groomed. And, despite all the walking, women here insist upon wearing high heels. And so does Heather. I can no longer count the times she has said, “I want to learn how to walk in heels.” My advice is, “Stop walking like a horse.” One day she was “practicing” as we walked all around downtown. We were almost home when her heel got stuck as we were stepping out of a very busy street. Instead of calmly catching herself in a squat, as a real horse would, she threw her arms out and screamed. Instead of steadying herself on the gigantic, strong, nearby light post, she decided to steady herself on my pants. She lunged at me, grabbed my shirt and the waist of my pants, and down she went. My pants ended up halfway to my knees, but luckily, so did my shirt.
Oh brother. The things girls do. pfff.
HA! I can picture it now.
