Classless

I’m taking an online class and our first assignment was to introduce ourselves to our small group, tell about ourselves, talk about our interests, our hobbies, etc, and then begin conversing with each other.

I wrote up my introduction stating that I don’t have a focus yet because everything is interesting, I talked about what my random jobs have been the past few years, my family, my dog, and then listed some of the things I like: car trips, puns and jokes, being outside, etc.
Then I read everyone else’s introductions.

My group consists of 2 doctors, one almost-doctor, a vet, and one other very articulate, driven person. So I already realize I’m the black sheep. While my likes consisted of jokes and car trips, they like things like treating children in acute care in Botswana, examining the genetic regulation of the steroidogenic enzyme, aldosterone synthas, and someone actually used a word that started with a z and had 3 consecutive “o”s.

Clearly, I am going to be the lighthearted one in the group.

  1. Your description made me laugh. Guess you're in the big leagues. I can't wait to hear more about your classes and classlessness etc. You probably should have added a little more class to your description by adding, "My friends and I like to say, 'We are not losers!'"

  2. All those dudes need to R-E-L-A-X. That's one thing us Smiths are better than anybody at. Relaxing to the point of falling asleep during job interviews.
