Tasty Pete Strikes Again

This time, he ate an entire tub of butter in the course of 3 minutes.

Before I dashed off to work, I quickly googled "what happens when dog eats butter" to prepare for what might await me when I returned home. The results were generic and certainly did not prepare me for the events to come, so I thought I would make a helpful guide for those who experience such an event.

What happens to a dog that eats an entire pound of butter?
1. He will throw up on your bed.
2. He will leave an enormous vomit-pile on your white shag rug.
3. For the next few days, smells will emanate from his body that can only be compared to what I imagine the inside of coffin on a July afternoon must smell like. They will actually wake you from sound sleep.
4. He will experience Extreme Urination, clinically defined as the use of both back feet for urination support due to lengthy duration of pee-stream and inability to stand on one leg for more than 30 seconds.

These results may seem quite unpleasant, but given that he has just eaten 2400 calories in under 3 minutes in the form of buttery spread, it's not so terrible. There is however, a silver lining to this densely-caloric cloud.

What's the good news for a dog that eats an entire pound of butter?

1. He will receive 1500% of his daily vitamin D in one sitting.
2. He will have eaten an excellent source of Omega-3 acids which support healthy cholesterol levels.
3. He'll have lustrous hair and you'll be able to grease cookie sheets with his tail.
